Default 4.8 on boost questions

I purchased an sts kit for my truck last year and have been contemplating everything i want to do with it.. i really cant decide, ive never rode in a truck with one, or even seen one.. I have a turboed 2 stroke arctic cat m7, and anything under 10lbs of boost on that is better than stock, but 11 and 12 pounds it really livens it up and scares the **** out of me.. that being said, at how much boost do these 4.8's really start to liven up, i know the kit will make performance better but where is the point where it starts to get really noticeable.. i am going to be running stock internals, so its got to be down to where everything is going to hold up and not break, im running the 4l60 and would like that to hold to.. more than likely its going to be ran at 5 normally, with a dual stage controller.. give me some recommendations on safe top boost that is going to bring that smile to my face..

btw.. the kit i have is non intercooled, i have 45lb injectors, boost a pump, and nelson will be doing the tuning.

here is the truck it will be on, a little diff then what most on here are!!
truck has shorty headers, 4.88 gears, 40 inch tires, and 14 inches of lift
for those of you who ask why... WHY NOT!

My crewcab is on 35's with 6" of lift. The front mount I have made a world of difference on 7 pounds, 12 pounds was crazy for a 7k lb truck. I'm sure the boost will really wake up your truck and help make it fun again.

For my 4.8 at 12-13#'s is when the power really seemed to come on.Boost is by way a twinscrew and at that level i was jus getting into the blowers efficency range.

so concensus is the stock motor can handle upwards of 10 psi intercooled??!? i was thinkin 8 was about max.. i really want this to be safe though, the whole truck only has 27k on it, and im half expecting my trans to go, but i would like to keep the motor from going.. how much does elevation effect everything.. i know on my sled theres a huge difference when i run it from 3k to 6k, and 6k to 10k it really starts running good on lower amounts of boost.. im just really looking for good safe suggestions that are proven..
