4.0 Whipple vs T6 1.32 S480
#1
Alright guys so I'm currently building a new engine for my show truck. Starting with a 6.0 from a 07 2500hd. Goal is to make 1000hp to the ground through a RPM built 4L80E/NV263(i think that is what t-case it has mated to it). Truck will be on 38" tires and have Super Duty axles under it.
Plans for the engine are what I've come up with from doing alot of reading:
.030 9.5:1 Pistons
Callies Compstar H-Beam Rods
Callies Dragonslayer Crank
Speed Inc Tu2 Cam for Turbo or Comparable cam for the Whipple
WCCH Heads
Holley Hi-Ram Intake(If I go Turbo)
All ARP bolts throughout
Will probably use around 125-140 lb injectors(93 Pump Gas)
Either 2 Walbro 450 or Twin A1000s
This obviously is a rough idea of the setup I want to run. I just want a built engine I don't have to worry about with either a turbo or supercharger that has me pushing 1000whp.
Any and all input is appreciated.

No? Seems a few builds over on ls1tech are using 93 pump only and running 950-1050.
Oh well, if I have to run E85 I will. Don't have anything against it, but for running the truck to different shows I wanted to make sure I could get fuel locally.
Guess I'll just put the 57 gallon tank in instead of the factory 27.

So take it to like a 408 then?
I do thank you guys for taking the time to answer my questions and help me.
I'm ready to get started on the tear down and rebuild of my truck.
408 w/ Callies Rotating Assembly at 9.5:1 CR w/ WCCH Heads and around 20psi from either should get 1000whp no?

I'm with Atomic, your drivetrain loss is gonna be rediculous. I think a 2wd auto is 20-25% average? Plus the weight of tires which is gonna be about 80lbs a tire (no wheel). Sounds like a killer project though and best of luck with it. Vote for Whipple here

Agreed with these guys. It will take a 408 and some bad *** heads. E85 would be worth it IMO but you could use 93 and a high dose of meth. I'd go with an S483 T6 if you are just shooting for a number. 4.0L whipple will be a lot better to drive around with that set up though
