300 mile trip

Did a 300 mile trip one way 600 round with the Truck and Trailer this week-end. Last year was with the 4.8 this time the 5.3 and the Maggie. Got 4mpg better gas mileage and the temp never moved and man was it hot coming back. The Trans ran around 190 popped up to 200 a few times. One very very happy camper.

That is amazing if that's the case. Can you share some more details like do you run any meth? what tranny and gears out back are in the truck. Sounds like a great combo, way to go!

You've got to be kidding. You're saying that you ran a TVS 1900 on a stock 5.3. towing 7000-8000 lbs. and you got 21 mpg doing it over a 600 mile round trip?

If your DIC delivered this info, you need to be mindful to not believe anything else it tells you. If you calculated this by dividing miles traveled by gallons used, you need to burn that calculator and get you another one. I've heard some wild mpg claims, but this has to be the best. 5 pounds of boost for most of the trip too? Wow...just wow...

That's amazing. I must have some serious issues with my truck. I just got back from a 3000 mile camping trip pulling a 30ft travel trailer, approx 7k lbs loaded. I get about 8 mpg @ 70mph in 3rd. The mileage is even worse if I tow in 4th.

Impossible, with my tuned/exhaust dmax pulling the same trailer with the same weight(68 camaro) I got a best of 14.5 due to the windsail of a frontal area on an enclosed trailer running 70. That tune put down to the wheels through 35" tires almost 400hp and 800 ftlbs of tq.
