I would think you can run a 2 bar sensor with a 3 bar OS. You just need to make sure the MAP sensor is set up correctly in the tune. If you truck goes to 19psi, it will only feed it fuel from the 14psi row because that is as high as the map can read.

You might could make the fueling correct with a mismatched sensor/os but its a hack way to do it and will constantly give you problems. Use a 2bar sensor with a 2bar OS and a 3bar sensor with the 3bar OS. Stop being a cheapass. If you plan on running more than 15psi at any time, go ahead and get the 3bar (sensor and OS) and do it right. You will not loose any driveability from the lower resolution.

Not trying to be a cheap ***. Already paid for a 2 bar sensor, so im just debating on selling it and going 3 bar or just stick with it and stay 2 bar. I doubt ill be going over 14lbs for a while as im stock motor
12-14lbs is going to be the area im thinking, going with 2 bar may keep me from turning it up lol

If 14psi is the max boost you will ever run then the 2bar is fine. If you ever want to go more than that, do what you need to do to set it up on a 3bar.

This sums it up. Some OS's dont loose resolution but most do. Going from 5Kpa resolution to 10 made no difference in tuning ability, you can fine tune it just fine with 10 kpa.

I snagged a 3 bar os out of a Camaro and re flashed the ecu. Your column shift selector won't work or ac lol, but it does the trick. You can buy a 3 bar with pig tail off of eBay for $30.

The timing map is based on ve of sone sort which I maxed out at 10 psi. Your final row of cells will end up being you commanded timing so it makes it a little crappy running different high levels of boost. My buddy that tunes says there is a work around by adjust boost enrichment and changing small timing enrichment table that will pull timing at a desired boost enrichment ultimately allowing for timing adjustment at higher boost levels above you base timing.

The fuel map is extended to account for up to 300 kpa so there is no scaling required.

To do this whole thing you'll do end 2 credits for the truck tune, 2 for the Camaro tune and 2 for the 3 bar os.

I will say it's worth it. Nothing like being stuck because you have a 2 bar map.

You can always use the 2 bar to log exhaust back pressure at low boost if you don't want it to go to waste.

To sync up the maps you'll need to com pair your stock to the Camaro and copy everything over that is different. Takes a while but it'll fire up like stock.

no, they are one of the only os's that you can load up with 3 bar option right off the bat. if you want a 3 bar os for you setup, i believe you have to have hp tuners create a custom OS.

ah ok, yea thats what i plan on doing.

Im undecided on if im gonna do 3 bar or 2 bar MAP at this point. I already have the 2 bar but prob just gonna sell it and go 3 if it wont really effect lower boost tuning that way i dont have to worry about upgrading later

anyone have the correct PN for the 3bar that works with these trucks? I know its not a plug n play one but i see there are other 3 bars out there like for the zr1 and whatnot

Do not buy the ZR1 3 bar. It scales as a negative number which the 3rd gen ECU's will not take. It only work with 4th gen ECU's.

Here's a couple links. I have had this type if cheapy 3 bar in for about a year and a half without issue. I just bought another (the first cheap one) to log exhaust pressure on my setup.
