Default 10.16 #'s of boost- woo hoo

I normally see 8.x to 9#'s.
Doing some retuning on the way home. Got onto the highway hit the pedal and HOLY MOLY...BIG DIFFERENCE!!!!! I hit 10.16#'s @ 3600 to 4000 rpm. I am guessing this is the TQ happy spot, it pulled hard, I mean real hard. I have never had to tune those cells, so they were rich real real rich, 10.5 @ 3600RPM and 10.8 @ 4000RPM. The butt meter went off the charts. I was "blown" away to say the least. I wonder if that spot would be better leaned out a little or the real rich fuel helped matters.

I see how all you with higher boost #'s are addicted and can't explain to us with lower numbers how much better it is. Ofcourse it was 45* on the way home, IAT was 90* to 100*, just thought I'd share what we all already know...BOOST IS BADASS!!! Let's hear it for boost!!!!

Sweet!

7 psi is fun.

11+ psi is a whole new ball game.

Lean her out. If you get knock then you know you went too far. My 4.8 radix ran best with 11.4-11.7 across the rpm band. That was 13psi and meth with That BIG heat exchanger you have.

Turbo Gibbs - What your best ET? I know you work making somewhere around 450rwhp.

12.58 @109 with full weight which included spare and the heavy *** 20's on the front. That was when I had put down 431rwhp and I ended up with 445rwhp before the meth pump quit on me and she

It had an 11 sec pass in it with the added power and loosing 2-300lbs doing the usual track day weight losses like everyone else. I had intentions of doing that but "issues" arose before I had the chance.

I know how you feel. The first COLD morning had the boost jump up and I was like The only scary part was seeing the red overboost light come on the boost gauge.

well, I think it was fluke really. I might enjoy that **** in the cold, but I am not gonna always see numbers like that. I liked it though. I definitely liked. It's funny how we all talk about what we want in our rides, and I swear I was content...I really was, but MAN it pulled something fierce, I came down that on ramp floored it and instantly started that grin...you know the grin...yeh that's right, the **** eatin grin. It definitely woke up something in me that I thought I put to sleep. Dammit!!! Must go faster. LOL

Yeh I was gonna lean it out to 11.5. I like 11.5 in the mid rpm and 11.8 to 11.9 in the upper rpm. But honestly, I don't think I will see it again. I got it logged though...so I can reminisce (sp?) about it some day in the future when I am depressed. LOL

It is funny how you can feel the extra PSI or 2 sometimes. I am worried about winter this year. I've done a lot of mods and haven't really spent a lot of time logging the new stuff. I'm afraid of any extra boost right now.

I am assuming you are logging boost into HPT. I have the MPVI pro coming. Curious how to wire the input from a 2bar (have one in the meth system). Would be easy if you just pull in the 5v output from it but I saw something where you have to pull in the ground to it also?

As far as afraid of extra boost, when I first started tuning I made a overly fat ve table. And then tuned towards lean. So if you look at my ve table (as ugly as she is) all of my reachable cells are in a "valley" compared to the cells I don't hit or have never tuned. (turning into a tuning thread) With that said, any extra boost i get will be rich, as long as the injectors hold up.

As far as logging boost, I have digital dakota gauges, they use resistance as their metering source, soooo they aren't 5v referenced. So i just subtract 14.5 from my manifold psi (it was 24.66)and wa-lah...boost #. Or convert kpa to psi and subtract 14.5 from that.
