06 silverado on3 kit?
#1
I have a 06 silverado. Rcsb 2wd. 5.3 flex fuel. All stock. I'm wanting a 0n3 turbo kit and blower cam for it. What will need to be done to use e85 and whatever boost the stock 5.3 can handle. Not wanting a race truck. Just a faster truck. Also what quarter mile times would be capable of with a turbo kit. Thanks in advance.

I'd suggest a different kit for a turbo setup, I know the price is good but the parts and fitment have given many troubles.
A tired and true off the shelf cam could be the Isky triple 12, makes great power.
Other list of parts you will HAVE to have.
2 or 3 BAR map sensor depending on what you computer can handle if a OS upgrade is possible.
Larger fuel pump.
Minimum of 70-80lb/hr injectors if you really want to run E85 all the time.
Different spark plugs.
New transmission, the stock 4L60e will just grenade. Suggest going straight to a 4L80e.
New rear diff, the factory G80 if the truck has it will grenade with power. Upgrade to a tru-trac or something similar.
A bunch of other odds and ends but that's some of the main stuff you'll need. If you wish to keep the stock transmission, I'd suggest not even going turbo.

Never never tune to run only e85.
Pump e85 various greatly in its ethanol content.
Not to mention the biggest glarinf factor.
Your on a short or long trip, low on fuel, need gas. No e85 with in 50 miles. Your fooked.
Always tune with 93 on a hot hot day. This will keep your timing in a place that will keep you from ever knocking.
To many ppl blow motors, pushing their tune to the edge on a cold day and wonder why they knock like hell on a hot day.
Always tune for the hottest temps your geographic area will see.
I have seen everything from e40-e90 come oit of a e85 pump.
If you want to run e85, buy it in barrels. Test it before buying.
And since your 06 doesnt have a ethanol content sensor, you greatly limited to how you can blend e85 with normal 93 on a agressive tune as you never know the ethanol percentage in the tank.
It compounds over time every time you fill the tank.
Say you put in 15 gallons of 93 and 10 of e85 on one fill up.
Run the tank down to 1/4 tank and put in 10 galloms of 93 and top with e85. You ethanol percentage just changed dramaticaly, due to the first tank with 10 gallons moxing with the second tanks 10 gallons.
Doing that is bad bad bad as yoir afr will shift wildly from fill up to fill up. This will eventually lead to damage.
Always tune for highest octane in your area, then add meth, but this is just a banddaid for to small ofma fuel system and in adequate intercooler pr to small pf a turbo working to hard.

It's easier to run pump gas all the time.
Aim for a horsepower goal first, then see how fast it will take you. After that you can see what needs to be changed to reach 11's.
The list of stuff I talked about are still going to be wanted to go that fast.

There is more than just building a engine combo to run a given time.
You will most likely need suspension mods, weight loss, etc.
By saying i want a "xx.xx" time, you really open the can of worms.
As FFDP said, shoot for a small goal, then build from there.
If ot was me building, ot would be get a basic turbo kit installed, leak free, tuned and working as intended. Then start thinking about other factors such as 1/4 times.
As then i would be looking at cams, convertors, suspension mods, etc to reach my new small goal of a decent time.
11's in a full size truck can be a challenge when on a budget and easy as pie with unlimited budget.
Start small and enjoy the process. You will make 11's before you know it and will have had alot of fun doint it. Instead pf pulling hair out chasing the dragon while learning.
