Default NJ tint laws?

Anybody know what's the legal tint limit in Jersey, or if tint is even allowed? I've seen some pretty dark rides rollin around, but I'm sure that they're not legal. I've also heard stories about guys failing inspection and/or gettin their ***** busted by the men in blue. starting to think of some tint for both my truck and my wife's Matrix (mainly to keep my little girl's baby blues safe from UV rays), but I don't want any issues with Johnny Law. Thanks in advance!!

http://www.tintcenter.com/laws/NJ/

no tint allowed on your sides, but anything on your back. if you see people riding around with dark tint, see if you can ask them if they ever get pulled over or anything. if they say no then go for it. i'd do like 20% on the sides and 5% on the back if i were you.

That sucks about no tint being allowed on the sides. You know, if you don't pull over then they can't give you the ticket...

We've never been bothered by the cops, as for the inspection, I'll tell you at the end of April. We tinted the windows on the GP for the same reason. I didn't want any of those stupid pull down shades. I know that the rear sides and back are okay, but the fronts are illegal. We have 35% all the way around. I hope to go on a day that is nice enough to roll the front windows down and hope that works. If not, I'll waste a day peeling them off and go back.

Depending on how the car makes it through, I might finally do the truck too.

Thanks for the input everybody...sux that the front sides are illegal I guess I could still do the rear windows in my wife's Matrix though

Teri (my wife) handed me one of those sun shade things that you're talkin about Tom, and I cringed That's when I started thinking about tint...figured I'd get both or our rides done. Maybe I'll do mine after inspection in April

LOL, those friggin things scream "mommy mobile". No way any vehicle of ours wa going to have one. At least if you wait till after inspection you have two years not to worry about it.
