they tried a east coast / west coast meet (aka a national meet) on gmfullsize. it failed miserably.

Yeah, it takes a lot of $$ to get everyone in the middle. I'm planning on making SEMA this year in Vegas, I know a few guys from your coast are thinking about it too.
