Default Is my dyno # really that crazy?

I know when i first put up my dyno results, alot of people were giving me crap about it not being possible that i made that much power. I made 373rwhp and 343rwtq. My truck weighs 4360 with me in it. I ran a 14.020@100.5 in 1950 ft DA. DA corrected to around 200 ft above sea level it would have ran a 13.7@103ish. Now since my power numbers as weather corrected, i did a rwhp calculation using my weight and DA corrected speed and came up with 368rwhp. Not that far off. Another thing, m3srt made 383ish to the wheels with a smaller cam but a better motor. I know he ran 103 but i dont know what his DA was when he did that. I was just bored and thinkin about it and i thought i'd see what ya'll think.

Yes, they are crazy. It's a damn dyno number, I ran a faster track time than you with "325 hp" according to a dyno.

I wouldn't put much emphasis on dyno numbers, or weather corrected dyno numbers.

I know its just a dyno number, and that a dyno is just a tuning tool. But my track time was run with stock gears and stock stall. If i would run this setup with 4.56 gears and a 4000 stall i think i could manage a 1.7x 60'. Thats about 5 to 6 tenths just to the 60. I would imagine that should get me a full second to the quarter mile. And my cam is a high rpm monster which is also gonna get me better dyno numbers. My peak tq was right at 5000 rpm and my peak hp was right at 6500 rpm.

Plus a 3600 to 4000 stall will take about 40 rwhp so i still dont think my dyno number is that outrageous.

As much as I don't want to get into this...I'm gonna

YES...your numbers are absurd...There have been hundreds of trucks dynoed on that dyno, all tuned by 1 of 3 people...NO ONE has EVER made that much horsepower from a stock 5.3 motor with a cam. Does that make them fake? No. Does it make them real? No. You didn't do a baseline on the truck before you started throwing parts at it. Basically what you're looking at is...

Most stock 5.3 trucks dyno around 230rwhp...give or take a few ponies. We don't know what yours did because, like I said, there is no baseline. So, with that information, basically your truck picked up ~140rwhp with JUST a cam(which is not big by any means), long tube headers, and single exhaust. It's just not likely. 100rwhp with similar mods has been done, but that extra 40 is gonna be hard to find.

Dyno numbers are just that, numbers. If the a/f was spot on, timing is good, then your good to go. I mean, what do you want? Do you want a big dyno number and then get smacked around by someone that makes 40 less ponies? Right now your track time obviously isn't what you want. Your 60' is horrendous, BUT, your mph is good for mid to low 13's. Get your gears and converter, drop the 60' and keep the rpm's up there and see what she does.

I am in no way trying to make you mad or offend you, but it is what it is. There is nothing trick about your truck. We all have a pretty good idea on what the numbers SHOULD be and what the truck SHOULD run.

I think the number is a bit inflated as well, keep in mind hundreds of LM7 5.3L's with similar mods have dyno'd closer to 320-330rwhp so yeah it's not too hard to doubt.

Your track times are good and indicate the gains of your mods realistically.

Find another dyno and try again for comparison if you like but really a dyno is only a great tuing tool and nothing to use for comparisons. (although we ALL like to do it)

Edit: Damn! Phantom beat me to the submit.
