Stock pcm won't let any engine spin more than 8000, the ability simply isn't there. It would have to be running a distributor to spin over 8000 like he said.

I can't argue too much there but, I have personally seen an fbody spin to 8000+ with a stock pcm. I just thought people weren't able to tune above that mark. Not trying to start a pissing contest just stating what I have personally witnessed myself

And for sure a distributor isn't needed to see 8k. People use ls1 coils with aftermarket ecms all the time and spin to 8500+
