I actually thought about it but the DCR would have been insane with LQ9. Tuning would have been a PIA and i would not be able to run much timing

I didn't realize so many 5.3s here making north of 330 and 340 rwhp through a truck drivetrain. Makes me wonder why I never see many 6.0s doing better than 360s-370s.

Mine made 345RWHP with cam, headers, catback, CAI, stat, etc. Spec's are in my sig. My truck is a 100% daily driver in this form.

you would know why it has not made it in the lq9 yet if you have driven it!! it is a blast to drive with all the low end.

I have a dyno sheet around here somewhere. I posted it a while back, but I'd have to dig for that also. The torque curve was impressive for the lack of cubic inch. It only made 309 through manifolds and adding the Pacesetters with a little more tuning made the difference.

Joe Gibbs trucks were not HO engines... they started life at the plant just like any other silverado. I know Garrisons truck I helped him pull that cam out of Pedros TBSS with a slightly damaged lobe and he still ran it LMAO...


I also had a 04 JG truck (check TOTM May 07) It was also a LM7... The truck had to be a HO option from the plant before it went to JG.

I can't help your case as my JG truck NA with cam only and no tuning made 319 on the rollers with 22's on it, but I do know with just tuning and a set of factory wheels it would have easily broken your 330 mark... I never dyno'd her cam only after all the other work I put into it.

I didn't think they were HO. I read somewhere on ls1truck that Garrison's truck was a HO...

His truck is a lot of things but I would never say it had the L33 in it...
