Is it worth ur $500 ur gonna have to spend later on a new 5.3? My 222/226 Eps cam made 340 on a double roller dyno on a conservative tune spinning to only 6200. That engine won't last long spinning to 7k.... and withought a 4000+ converter that thing isn't going no where.. imo

Well The 5.3 thats in it will be coming out soon anyway so doesnt matter to me beside its not like everytime i dive it its turning 7k! Also your more than welcome to come to ga and see how it does. I know it needs a stall but sometime ppl dont have the money to buy everything they want all at once! Dont understand why ppl have to stick the nose in other ppls ****. I just posted the numbers so ppl could see that your able to put a big cam in a 5.3 and still make good power. Let me worry about the side affects of a BIG cam or turning 7K! Been doing this a long time....

Are we talking about at the wheels or at the flywheel?

I bet the truck does have a nasty idle!

Yeah I also heard that the stock converters do yield better results in your situation on the dyno. With you still being on the stock converter it won't have any power down low as you know which has already been stated. If you put a 4K converter on it I bet that thing would RUN!

BTW I don't recommend you posting this thread on gmfullsize as some members over there will go out of their way to Troll on your thread.(ask me how I know lol) People here at PT.net are so much friendlier. I don't think 05gmcsierra meant any harm.

I also still have the stock converter in my truck, It needs changed very bad.

I think he was just concerned with spinning the motor to the moon. 7k is a lot of RPM for one of these motors. Just kinda seemed cranky is all.
