Default 5.3 and GT42 dyno numbers...

Went the the dyno at Mass Diesel on Saturday to get some baseline numbers with my truck. Best numbers were 534hp and 536tq. Set up is a stock 5.3 with 216/220 114lsa comp cam, kbracing turbo kit, gt4202r charger with 74mm compressor wheel and 1.15A/R exhaust housing, t56 and 4.88 gears on 12lbs of boost. Timing was set at 19* and we tried 20* but lost 5hp. I have yet to put my meth kit on the truck and I need to make a new downpipe. The current one is 3" and I had to mod it to work with this turbo. A 4" downpipe along with a cutout should help out too. I am happy with the numbers but there is always room for improvement.

Huge thanks to Wheatley for the tuning. After countless emails this truck feels great to drive and the dyno graph shows it too. He even waited on standby after my 1st run on a saturday morning to look at the scans and make some changes! Thanks again Charlie!

On the Dyno...

Heres my truck with my buddies 710hp twin turbo dmax. Sick truck...

My friend Rich was kind enough to trailer my truck yup there from RI just in case something broke. He made 522hp with tune and Cheetah turbo.

Ill see if I can post a video later.

Thanks BTW the runs were done in 4th gear with the smaller 28" tall tires. I wonder if larger rear tires would have helped with loading the turbo up? Kind of like running it in 5th gear?

Thanks guys, I got some work to do before the 1st track visit. I need some driveshaft loops and traction bars to keep the rear in its place. I will be hitting the dyno on March 19th again so hope to get it dialed in even more before hit the track.

do you have a set of DR's for it? that thing is gona be a monster off the line with the 4.88's and the t-56. wont even need to boost it up or be able to because once you get off the line youll be shifting in second with those gears haha.

Ya I need to get a wider set for it though. I have a 2 step to help with the launch as well but that is going to be my handicap for racing, getting off the line and rowing through the gears.

i really think 4.88's are way to much gear for you man you should try 4.30's or 4.10 gears
