Its easy enough to advance the camshaft to bring the powerband back down. Keep in mind the convertor was installed at the same time as the camshaft. Could be the convertor on the TQ graph. But we will see when we advance the camshaft some.

We need to get your truck to the track as well to see what this power translates to in ET and MPG. We can get a weight on it as well.

Yeah, Rick is the Man. I was there today, made some non-related tweeks, and changed my mind (for now) about advancing the cam.
I am hoping to make it Weds night but will be working till 3:30 so hold a spot for me!
What kind of time do you think i make?
Think i can break into the high (13.98) 13's?
Edit: That pic is a classic. I would be in soooo much trouble for that one!!

Dont mean to sound like and *** but a few of us told you that was a bit big of a cam. I had a 222/224 112 in my Z andit lost quite a bit down low from that cam but screamed up top. Man I honestly dont see how you are making those high numbers but you will find out for sure when you get a track time. I think if you are making that hp truely to the wheels then you will hit a 14.3 or so. I ran a 15.1 in cooler weather than now with a 3K stall, tune, CAI, and dual exhaust. I was putting down close to 330rwhp with my old 5.3 with lt headers thats what has me puzzled about your numbers.

I'm running higher compression than your 'old 5.3'. The L33 is 9.9:1. The numbers are spot on but your right, the track will tell. If the weather is clear (doesn't look good) we'll find out weds night.
This is my first attempt at modding other than intake and exhaust. I'm bound to make a mistake here or there. I'm having fun with it, I can always go down in cam if this one doesn't tickle me, right?

i would advance it. someone had the 224 on 58x lift on 112+4 lsa and it ran the 1/4 pretty good in a ecsb 5.3. cant remember who or exactly what they ran but it was high 13's. advancin your 114lsa aughta bring the rpm's down to where their usable on our heavy trucks. good luck at the track. hopefully youll get the numbers you want.

Got to remeber he's running the L33 Alum block 5.3. Don't know how much difference thats making involving the cam swap, but the numbers seem pretty decent. Also running shorties, so I don't know. Need to get that thing on the track and see how it responds, Dyno racing only goes so far.
