Default 02 LQ9 dyno

I just wanted to get a baseline after the LQ9 swap. It's bone stock except a 93 Wheatley tune through a stock 60e and 3.42 rear end.

The pull was done in 2nd gear because of all the driveshaft explosions I read about on here. Do you guys know how much power I lost versus a 3rd gear pull? Thanks!

268rwhp, 296 rwtq

in 3rd with the converter locked you could see up to 20rwhp gains. In 2nd gear the converter is not locked therefor you number willbe even lower
I see it was 95 degrees also, that will lower numbers some to
if youhave an aluminum driveshaft you made a good choice dynoing in 2nd LOL

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for the reply. I think the LQ9 should put down maybe 290 rwhp. I don't care about the lower number, I just want to get a baseline so I can see what my future mods gain.

Also, the guy who did the dyno said the timing was pretty soft and more could be added safely.

If I remember correctly we tuned for mid grade fuel?
I have your file pulled up right now
If it was suppost to be for 93 octane it definatly needs more timing, but I swore we tuned for lower octane, that is what I have in my notes
If not,we will get you a retune out immediatly and the number will jump up a good amount.
Also,what is your last name?

GMCtrk, does your truck have electric fans? Any intake or exhaust mods? What wheels and tires? 4WD or RWD?

Wheatley, I've asked you before what kind of gains you think we could see with my truck going from an 87 octane tune to a premium octane tune.

This is what my 05 LM7 put down in 2nd gear with a K&N filter in the stock airbox and a cheap muffler upgrade.

Get your driveshaft high speed balanced and it will not come apart. I had mine done. Before it was balanced they spun it up and you could see it wavering. The guy said it was within factory specs. After it was balanced they spun it up and it was straight as an arrow.

Well, mine is a steel two piece. Is yours a 1 piece? Also, how much did that cost you and where did you have it done?
