Wheel hop from hell

With that much drop from the spring under your pinion angle is going to be all messed up. If you haven't changed it take a look at it. The pinion will probably be pointed slightly above horizontal. Pinion shims are cheap. Shim the leaf springs until your pinion angle is slightly below horizontal. That should help. I would imagine you get some driveline vibration at high speeds if you haven't fixed this already. My truck begins to get a slight vibration above 90 with just shackles and the overload removed. Traction bars definately cure the wheel hop, but cost a little more. I put a set of lakewood slapper bars on my truck for around $200. They are longer than normal and custom fit for my truck.

After I flipped my rear axle I got wheel hop from he77... a little pinion angle adjustment and some spring clamps for good measure and... no more wheel hop. Check your pinion angle out. Good luck.

Yeah, the pinion angle is def. off. Its pointing up. Where do you get shims to correct this? I was just jacking the truck up and checked tonight. Ive also got Cal-tracs im going to install. My problems should be fixed soon!
