Default Yank trt 2600 stall for heavy truck?

I am in the process of installing a ls1/4l60e in my 88 ram( see sig link)

I called yank to see what they thought of a small stall just to help with 1/4 mile and 60'.

He said the trt 2600 11inch converterwould be good even if I were to tow my camaro to the track, It all sounds good to me, but first I would like to find a few people who have this converter, know their weight of the vehicle, and see how they like it.

1/4 gains?
mpg loss?
tranny overheat while towing?

My truck will(or should) weigh 4300ish, have 31x12.50 street tires, 3.90 gears, 4x4, stock ls1 with headers, intake, and maybe a ls6 cam(later) with some mild home ported ls6 heads I'll be working on.

I''m hoping to make this truck a good daily driver but also a npi mustang eater as well..LOL.

Why so small. I would look closer or above the 3000 range. Put a nice cooler on the trans and you will have no heat issues.

Yeah, at first I was thinking a 2800 10in. converter, but with the fact that I will tow my car with the truck, as well as race the truck, you think the smaller 2800 would tow fine?

2800 will tow without a problem. A big cooler is always a good idea but the stock cooler would be ok probably. Anything bigger will just make your trans live longer.

I had a 2800 vigilante in my 04 Z71/STS turbo.

That stall drove like stock till gave it hell. It was awesome.

Towed real nice too.

Get a triple disc converter and you wont have to worry if your going to tow.

How much does your truck weigh? I'm sure mine is most likely going to be lighter, so if yours seems to be fine, I'm sure mine will also.

Goal for the truck is 13.9 or better, and 18-20mpgs on the highway, and I hope to get 14-15 in mixed, low speed driving .

My truck should pretty much be a modern chevy, but with an old rusty dodge frame..LOL

The yank 2600 was a good converter for me, I would go with that if you plan to tow a race car. I went to my performabuilt 2800 because my stock trans broke, had to either get it cleaned, or get a good deal on a billet one from them and get an extra year on the entire warranty of trans and converter.
