A dude that's been doing trannys for 35 years (goes by Doc). He builds Tony's (Hardcore) tranny for his 9 second GTO. Tony has used him for about 10 years now. He built mine last year, but I took it back for a re-fresh just to check it out. It was all good but I had him put in the 3-4 CP anyway since that seems to be one of the high wear areas.

Cool, I pushed my 65e hard behind allot of wieght without failure. Although my setup likes the 80e better with its taller 1st gear. I still have my built 65e in perfect shape in a crate in my garage, it just made me paranoid.

Glad to see you're still at it. What AFR heads did you go with on the new stroker?

This is year 3 with a couple hundred runs. Went down once, so I will keep running it. This is starting year 2 on this builder (all looked good for all the torture I put it thru).
It took me half a year to get the tuning right on the tranny. It kept doing a crossover and jumping to second gear right out of the hole, then back to first. That should have ate up the clutch packs but they were in good shape.

Must be just plain luck with the 4l60. Some last and some don't.

Same AFR 225's ported by Pete Incaudo. Just freshened up the heads. Same motor, just bored 10 thou, a little more cam from Pete and I shaved the heads a bit.
