why is my truck so slow?

Pull out all of the spark plugs & wires. Remove the fuel pump relay. Hold the throttle wide open while you are cranking the engine over. You should hear each revolution...
Crank it for 5 revolutions without letting off the key. Watch the gauge while it is cranking. It should jump up in 2 or 3 large jumps and then level off. It helps to have somebody else turning the ignition key for you.
Post up your results.

Ok, I am ashamed to say I never got around to checking my compression. I don't think there is a problem though because when I did it I never pulled all the plugs, and never opened the throttle at all. I will get to it, but I was more interested in going to the track tonight. I decided to disable my water/meth as Tim and Roger were having such good luck without any. Anyways I decided to just run the AFR at 11.7, and turn the timing up until it would ping, or not improve speed/time. Well, long story short, I made 3 runs, and my last was 12.49 @ 109 with a 1.88 60' and 24 degrees of timing, and no knock retard. I bumped it up another degree, and missed the last run by the time my truck cooled down. I know that's a lot of timing, but what the hell.
