Default Who makes wider wheels

im having trouble finding nice wheels that have some width to fit my 2011 silverado. id like to find a 17 or 18 that can fit at least a 275 rear tire. most the wheels i see are only 8.5 or 9 inches wide??? Can't these trucks hand bigger wheels to get traction...

in the drag race section because i want traction!

hahaha figures..... see my main purpose is to run a decent size drag radial out back for the summer street/strip action. I wanted to run a Mickey thompson but it seems they require at least a 9 inch wide rim along with Nitto too. Nitto makes a 20 inch drag radial if you have 20's but i was hoping to stick with an 18 inch wheel by at least 9.0 wide. I know bogart makes nice wheels but there not for daily use. any suggestions would be appreciated.

I run a 305/45/18 drag radial on a 18x9.5 wheel for my street shoes. You are going to have a difficult time finding a one piece cast (ie cheap) wheel in that width with the correct offset to tuck on a 2wd. However, nearly all of the custom two piece wheel manufacturers offer a wider width hoop (9"+). Check out companies like Intro, Billet Specialties, BozeForged, Bonspeed, RaceLine, Centerline, etc. and find some thing you like.

I've heard that; some say they've had great service from Centerline tho. Can u expand on your "horrid" experience? I'm really wanted to run the ones like yours, but altho I'm not quite ready to purchase, I still like to know what's goin on w/. a perspective brand I'd buy from.

Agreed on the difficult time to find cheap wheel over a particular width. You're gonna have to drop a little coin if ya want somethin wide, I'd think. At least that's 2 people's thoughts. What have u budgeted for wheels outta curiousity?

there should be tons of wheels in 17x 8-12", pretty sure centerlines go to 10-12"
my cragars are cheap and 17x9, but too heavy for racing, unless you compare to beadlocks, LOL

8.5 to 9" is plenty for a 275 tire. Look at the manufacturer specifications for the tire. It always gives a measured rim specification. Typically, you can go +/- 1" from that size. What happens then, it changes the characteristics of the tire, i.e. runout, diameter, contact patch.
