Tom, I'm running the same 275/70R16 tires with 3.73 gears. It's a nice combo for daily driving, towing, punishing Mustangs & Camaros, etc. But for the track, I'm considering 28" slicks. No gear change is in my future, too expensive to do both differentials. Who knows what I will really end up doing, kinda depends on how the new business does....

This was with 3.73 and a 30" tire and !spare !tailgate !Jack

after my blackbear tune I ran 14.7 (14.2 da corrected) with the same
mods.

You should have some more in it, I'm sure you can drop close to 200lbs without too much work. Spare and Jack is a good 80lbs, and your tonneau is probably close to that too
Jeff, u dropped .7 w/ only a BB tune & nothing else?

! = no, correct?

Ya, 200# is what I'm thinkin. Tonneau I was told is 110# (but I'll leave attaching hdwr on), so call that 100#, fullsize steel spare (35-50#), & my jack is also ~35-50#. Ballpark figure. BTW, how much does a tailgate weigh? ...cause I'm thinkin of takin it off right now to find out.

Roger, I'm not lookin for the fastest. Just faster than most. A Titan & Tundra killer, & enuff to shock most stock Stangs, Camaros (not the 5th Gen). Crush most imports unless modded. To me, I really want 13.1-13.4. I hope for what I wanna do 12.8 is more realistic.
If I spray, a low 12.

Got any links on what size / specs for a 28"? Cause when it comes to drag radials, I'd prefer a BFG cause I liked em when I had on my car. I might eventually run a slick. But that's down the road. After a few things. Which will be revealed when tranny comes. Jus waiting on Vince.

I really wanna address suspension, so that phase is done, & done completely.

I would go with a 26" tire if you are keeping the 3.42s. I have 3.42s and they love the 26" tire.

Are u running a d/r or slick? Any link to your tire would be helpful.

Wow, I didn't know t-gate was 60#. So, I'll guess my spare steel 16" combo is 48-56#. Thought so on !
BTW, where's sig pic of your truck? You do still have it, right?

The biggest BFG DR for a 16" is 255/50R16, comes in at 26 inches. Gonna look a little silly IMO. Might get away with it at the track though. I also think you'll be better off with a 28" tire with your future plans.

M&H Racemaster in a 275/55R16 would be 28" DR. These are what I'm considering. http://www.mandhtires.com/store.php?...on=show_detail

I know the stock tires will be useless on strip eventually. Never hurts to look.

I am running a summitomo street tire. I wanted to try them in 26" before I committed to drag radials. They worked great all last year, but as they are getting a little wear they arent hooking up very good anymore, so I guess its time to spend some money or a drag radial, most likely the bfg.
Here is what they look like, they get soft quick with a little heat

I'm actually waiting on a call on something special now.

Gotta see how much it'll hurt the finances. I won't be doin it real soon, but I'm considering. Workin w/. 2 different co.'s to make sure parts play nice.
