Default What gear for a good burnout?

I just got a set of Drag Radials and was wondering if I should hold second gear for a good burnout to prevent shifting while in the box or if I should just go with Drive (3rd) What do you do to heat your tires out the box?

I always put it in 2nd .. No reason to go to third unless your set up with a line lock IMO, hard on the brakes..

I like to let it shift into 2nd then 3rd then downshift to 1st and into 2nd again. I feel it's the best thing for my transmission.

do you guys floor it on the burnout? I just had mine in drive and was doing about half throttle maybe a little more. The first one it never shifted out of 2nd and the next one I think it went into 3rd because my rpm's dropped down to about 3000 and I couldn't figure out what was going on

No I have never floored it, no reason to really.. Just get them going pretty good on the first one of the day, if you sit a long time in between runs.. Roll it out of the box at a lil more then half throttle.. at least is how I do it
