The forged pistons etc, won't help prevent detonation, that's all about the tune and fueling. They are less brittle though when pre-det does happen.

My cam is good, and proven. I don't have any before numbers, just what's in my sig. It didn't happen overnight though, there was alot of tweaking and upgrading along the way. But it did get me solid low 12's.

We're getting ready to put a 228/236 cam in a RCSB 5.3 truck, just waiting for parts. I expect it to run pretty damn good, and not "fall off" as much on the big end. Time will tell...

Look into the Lingenfelter GT2-3 cam. Its a great boost cam.

A lotta truth to that statement. Its similar to the z06 cam, just slightly bigger.

If it were me I'd follow rogers lead. The trucker makes great power with boost and it sounds narly at the same time... the GT2-3 sounds stock.
