Default Went racing last night

Hello all! Took my 01 Chevy Ext. Cab out to Sac raceway last night to run in the truck lane. 3rd time racing it, and ran my best times yet.

It's a 5.3l, with a magnaflow exhaust, K&N intake, shift kit, and vette servo.

Best run was a

R/T........-.026
60......... 2.309
330........6.478
1/8........9.923
1/8 mph..72.165
1/4 et.....15.510
1/4 mph..87.061

I think it easily has a 15.4 in it as it sits. I actually spun the tires a bit off the line on that one instead of just bogging down like usual. I'm going to do a converter, some headers, and some et streets. I have a nitrous kit sitting in my shed, but this is just my tow vehicle, so I'm debating that one

good base times, did you manually shift it or did you just leave it in O/D?

Thats a good time. When I had similar mods the best my truck ran was a 16.2. For some reason it has always been slow, and I have struggled alot just to get to the 14's. good luck

Sounds good! You have more left based off your 60 foot times versus mine, plus I'm sure you're running in high DA conditions at this time of year. Good luck finding more!

I'm in the same position, I want to mod my truck a little more but not go wild as it's also my tow vehicle. I'll likely do the same intake/exhaust mods as you.
What do you think of the Magnaflow system? Loud or just enough? Easy to install?

Well, It was on the truck when I bought it, so I couldn't tell you. It looks relatively simple, fits very nice with plenty of room around everything. Its a single in, dual out under the bumper. It's quieter than most trucks I hear rumbling around, but loud enough that someone will **** their pants if you WOT pass them on the highway and they don't see you coming

Judging by everyone elses times the DA was pretty damn good for being summer. It was actually cold and dry lol.

Good to see you run some decent #s and finally signed up on this site instead of the other one.
