there is such a thing as prioritizing your mods... if youre planning on running a big converter, you need to plan on some cooling upgrades, and some way to monitor that heat addition, and some way to handle the extra torque that is multiplied by said converter... aka, trans mods, or a built trans.

get a temp gauge, get a good size additional cooler, get your trans built or buy a built unit, and send your converter back to whoever built it to have it cleaned... I'm sure its gotten full of your 3-4 clutch pack by now I dont know how to put it to you more plainly than that... or wait till you have to pay a few wrecker bills... you'll figure it out.

-take all this advice from someone whos been there, broken that, blown it up, gotten the T-shirt... I think I'm on my 13th? 14th? trans and maybe 8th? 9th? converter?? 3rd motor, 5th rearend.... etc. I guess I'm hard on ****...

IMO the scenario your thinking about (MPH shift point being too high) does not apply unless he is running a tire ALOT less than 28".... Also Wheately tuned it and I am pretty damn sure he would not overlook something that simple...
