Default Went 11.00 last night

In my dads nova. , could not hit a 10.90 for nothing, lol, ill get some pics up, 69 nova with a 396, nothing like bigblock torque, also there was a blue 01? chevy swb with a 5spd running 12.8s, didnt get a chance to check it out, but man it was a sweet truck. One of these YEARS i will post the same thread, but with my truck

yep a 396 is one of chevy's smallest bigblocks, came out in the mid 60's to early 70's, then they where called 402's

They also made a 366 big block, but those came in 2 ton truck chassis. I Drove one the last two years during sugar beat harvest till I broke the tranny in it last year, lol. Then I got to drive the truck with the 402, and air brakes. Both truck were of early 80's vintage.

the 402 was just a 396 w/ .030" over bore from the factory.

big blocks went 396, 402, 427, 454, 496, 502, etc.

my dad built a 402 w/ 427-425hp rat heads for a 67 tempest back in his younger years
