so when he first started tuning the truck it shifted out fine?
usually when my transmission starts slamming rev limiters i start saving for rebuilds. if it was in the tuning, charlie wouldnt have had a problem getting it to shift right. set the rev limiter higher and the shift point lower for starters...if it still slams its either a mechanical or maybe an electrical issue.
could have it possibly been the pcm itself? i just dont see a small issue like that making it past any tuner. ive had SEVERAL transmissions start slamming the 1/2 and 2/3 shift points. its usually not too long after that im having to pull the transmission. i dont think i have ever broken a hard part in the past 7 transmissions. im hell on clutches though haha.
quick SOFT shiftpoints are the key IMO. if your shifts feel like your being rear ended, your begging to scatter parts all over the track. unless im on a bad road, my truck rarely chirps 1-2 shift. not to say its not a firm shift but not slamming gears either.
time wise you will not see any difference with your line pressure jacked through the roof or every spacer installed on your shift kit.

i was having them rebuilt under GM warranty

i was running mid 12's and low 13's on stock transmissions...they would last about 4 months per transmission and being rebuilt stock for free
life has been so much easier since gm refused another transmission and i swapped over to performabuilt.

im sure paco isnt on his first transmission. ive heard great things about juan. ive also seen some of his transmissions go down. every builder has transmissions go down. theres no such thing as a invisible transmission. its part of "paying to play"

in the end, every transmission fails. god couldnt build a 60e to last forever. some just take more abuse than others. thats the best we can look for.
