I do live and Texas and yea it gets HOT down here. No its not my DD. When I first put this motor in 2 years ago I installed an ATI balancer and it had a 10% underdrive a/c pulley on it and the stock belt wouldn't fit. I didn't go looking for a belt cause I was anxious to get it running at the time and here I am 2+ years later and still have never put a belt on it. I always ride the windows down anyway so I figured if I haven't done it by now, whats the point. I did a 150+ mile cruise this past summer and while it was hot as hell, I actually didn't mind it all that much.

I've got all the accessories off the front of the motor right now (to fix the water pump issue) and figured it was a good opportunity to do that along with cleaning up the wiring and misc. stuff in the engine compartment. I think I have one the ugliest trucks under the hood. I've rarely ever posted any pics of it under the hood for that reason.

Thats a touchy question to ask without starting an L.A. Riot....lol

I don't know of a maggie going 10.40's but I'm pretty sure there was a guy down in the valley that had a 1900 on a 408 that went 10.90's (I think). If I remember right he upgraded to a 2300 but not sure what it ran after that.

With a light enough truck, with good suspension, and a well built 400+ci motor, I could see a 2300 going mid-low 10's. 9's I'm not sure is possible without a fully gutted race truck. I'd love to see someone try, as that would be pretty cool.
