this is one of the reasons I am switching to an aftermarket fast reacting IAT sensor, like the FI guys use. The factory IAT sensor in the MAF is slow reacting, so for example:

your siting in the stagging lanes at the track, you start and stop a few times until it is your time to run.... By the time you get to the line your MAF is heat soaked and is not really representing your true Intake Temperature, but when you finally run it basically takes the entire run for the factory IAT sensor to read accurately/come down in temp....

Basically my experience at the track a few times ago...
