took my junk yard build 4.8 to the track for the first time tonight. from my searching and asking around i believe this is the new record for a 4.8 using all stock parts in the bottom end. car is running on pump gas with meth, daily driven full interior , leather seats , stereo ect true street car. tonight i was running 18 psi, i have had it as high as 19 on the street but felt that was pushing it so i turned it down a few days ago. i had a ls6 in the car last season and ran a best of 9.7 so this new pb makes me very happy.

Hell yea man! Sweet ride those cars can be deadly. Any more details on setup Turbo, trans, etc? Go post that up in the car side forced induction forum.

 

trans is a 2004r, turbo is 74mm precision. ls6 cam , fast intake , custom manifolds. pretty basic and simple set up. converter is a ptc 3000 stall.

P.S. Congrats on the world record for fastest gray 4.8 powered Z with a 74mm turbo and slicks! Only question I have was this run for the Tuesday record or Saturday? I was chasing wed so wanted to make sure it was still available.

no slicks used , was on dot radials and not the kind with 2 lines carved in them either not sure what your asking about with the days. im currently the quickest and fastest stock bottom 4.8 over all. some day i would like to do pistons and rods and a race gas tune and see what the little 4.8 can really do. its a really fun little daily driver as is but i can dream lol.
