Default shooting for 11's tomorrow

Some of you saw that a texting 18 year old ran a stop sign and totaled my 03 stepside the night of my fastest pass. truck ran a 12.09 at 110.8 with a 1.69 60ft leaving off idle. Truck was running a turbonetics 62-1, maf tune, 9lbs. I have rebuilt the truck, and now its a 2000 GMC. I upgraded to a master power 70mm, went SD tune, and boost is at 11 psi now with 15 degrees of timing. The truck is on the lighter side now, old truck was power everything, this one is manual everything, otherwise, drivetrain was complete pull out of the other. I would really like to see 11.6s at 115 or so out of it, considering what it did before. mods are in sig. On maf tune and 9lbs my duty cycle was at 42% with 60lb injectors, and then it jumped to 62% on 9lbs when it was tweaked with SD tune, now on 11, not sure what its doing, but looks like i picked up good power just with the SD tune. I know 11s isnt fast to alot on here, but when I started on this sight many years ago, not many were doing it. It has been my goal for along time, and hope this time around it goes my way lol. heres the truck before, crash, and now.

Thanks man, I would try the M&H drag radials. I dont know what gears your running either, but I ran 4.56s in my old superchard crew cab, and it was in the 1.90s with street tires. this truck has 3.90s, and it will cut high 1.6s leaving off idle with no boost with the M&Hs. it did a 1.68 a month ago, and my caltracs were not even set up right, I just wanted to run it lol. Worth trying for you anyway

Hope it went well! You've been through a lot, and lord knows how much work it has taken to get everything into your new ride. With all that, I hope you dipped into the tens

Not so good lol. Nothing went right, but thats the fun I guess. Track was horrible, my truck usuall cuts high 1.6 60s, I couldnt get better then a 1.9s out of it. First pass, after my burnout, the guy had me wait awhile, guy was fixing the 8th mile timing light, but it launched decent, 1-2 shift it hit the rev limiter a few times, let out real quick, and got back in it. went 12.8 at only 104. next pass was a 1.91 60ft, (we had fixed the 1-2 shift) and it went 12.71 at 105. last pass was a 1.94 60ft and a 12.8 at 105. It only trapped 4 mph higher then when I was only 4lbs. So with new found power im blowing through the converter badly, the tach stayed above 6k all the way down track, rpm drops were only 400 every pass. If i could have hooked like normal it would have been 12.2s at really low mph. My converter is not optimal, but its what I had and I was going to use it aslong as I could. Yank ss 3600, way to loose, but for low boost like i had for awhile it woke the 4.8 up. So now I know my next mod. I ddnt feel so bad, even with my crap time, i still made top 5 fastest that night. My buddys twin turbo 350z went 11.3 at 123 a coouple weeks ago, he only ran 12.8 at 115 last night, he said everyone was off, but I think my converter limited me the most. Heres the vid of my first pass, you can see what the converter is doing and 1-2 shif.t

Man, that sucks. One of the things I really hate about drag racing is that track prep is out of your control. We can only do the best we are given to work with.

Yeah, that converter is killing your MPH, also got an issue with mine being way too loose and only dropping 500 rpm on shifts - likely just turning my power into heat.

Alot of times we try not to spend so much money, I chose to run it like that along as I could, and that was my result. If I would have backed the boost down, I bet it would have trapped back up around 110 where it was before. Im still impressed that on 9lbs it went 7.65 at 88, 12.09 at 110, and I had the itch to edge it over into the 11s with a better tune and a couple more pounds, it just didnt like it lol. The 60ft was horrible, but that was out my control last night, but only dropping 200 rpm on the 1-2 shift, and 400 rpm 2-3, im loosing alot now. On 9lbs it would drop 500.
