shakedown passes for the 5.3
#1
we finished up my cousins 5.3 rcsb silverado last week and decided to take it to the truck and see what the improvements were. the previous owner of this truck was James Day's son and had a 218/224 115lsa cam, 3200 circle d,342's and the truck ran consistent 13.5-13.6 range. i custom spec'd a cam from texas speed,3600 circle d,410's and caltrac's.\
we only managed to make one real pass because the track was very packed but this run was with 22* timing,11.2 afr and 6300 shift points leaving the line at 1500rpm's.
60' 1.84
330' 5.344
1/8 8.280
mph 83.75
1/4 13.036
mph 103.14
truck has a ton more in it judging by the low timing, rich afr's,horrible 60' and the fact that we only made one pass! this truck will see 12.60's and if it doesnt
well we will just haft to see what the 200 shot will do.

yes sir! we used a 28-10-16 et street. probably try a 26 or 27' drag radial. i have had alot of luck with drag radials. yes i was very happy with the mph, hopefully once i put some timing in it and lean it out we can be around 85-86mph.
oh and i disagree, 1.82 for a 4.3 is a dam good!
