Radix, got some runs today since my last attempt
#1
All runs were in D. I failed to do that when I ran back on Oct. 24 '12 for a variety of reasons. I'll edit this later w/. DA & weather.
About 52 degrees.
1st run was <5 min after I arrived.
On runs 1-3, tire pressure was about 34-35# hot, after about a 55 mile drive there, 1 hash mark over 1/4 tank gas.

Runs 4-6, same except dropped tire press. to 28# hot.

A few notes.
I'd never been to this track (which was concrete), so I was new to track & concrete was new to me as I usu. run @ Milan (asphalt). Cool people, only complaint really was after the 1/4, it was hard to brake as track looks, feels & brakes like a bumpy cake. At 100+, I hate to feel as tho my ABS is almost about to go off, not exactly inspiring. That aside, it was cool experience.
Yes, all runs I did were in D. Just left off idle. Tried to get 3 baseline before I change anything. Then 3 more baseline runs. Thankfully I did so & got 6 runs total.
Tune is what it was on Oct. 24, so it's not quite right, never street or dyno tuned, since blower install.
What I'm amazed by...
Run 1 was about 5 min. after I arrived, my new PB 13.551 @ 102.62.
I guess it was still cool from coming off the hwy?
Run 4, I ran 13.9 @ 101.22 on a 2.19, then proceeded to hot lap it 3 min. later to run another 13.551 @ 101.89.
Then on last run when track was actually closing at 3:45 P.M., run #6 only 6 mins later, I thought I'll try to concentrate on a decent lite, only to spin to a 2.4 60' on my way to 102.08 MPH.
I crossed line at ~3700 in 3rd gear.
On run 2, I ran a SSS w K&N CAI, Dynatech LTs, Borla XR1, & tune. After he ran me at a rather lazy MPH, he followed w/. a run that was 12 MPH faster by hot lappin. How is it we both, NA or boosted can hot lap & run better? Yet when I tried & thought I'd run better I didn't.
CONS:
I know tune is an issue, traction too - as both were for me on Oct. 24 when I last ran. Ditto for tune.
New PB 60' best was 2.15. Which isn't much better than before blower.
PRO:
I'm happy to break outta 14's & get solidly into the 13's. 4 runs in the mid 13's. Slowest were 14.16 & a 14.0.
New personal bests, were MPH was consistently betw. 101.22 - 102.62.
PB 2.15 60'
PB 13.551 x2

Now, I'm starting to feel like it was worth the money as it dipped solidly in 13's.
What did u get just w/. meth alone? Or better tire by itself, if u prefer it asked that wa?
A friend is well into the 12's, has meth, but doesn't feel it benefitted his times at all. Yet, I think it (meth kit) will help me. And next yr., I'm gonna find out.
It's either that, or a small shot. I wanna do both actually, but that's a little ways off.
Maybe Alky will do a Black Friday sale. While $ is real tight right now, that'd be killer.

That, plus the fact the NX kit I want is outta my reach at the moment. WE need a broke smilie, I could use it here.

Thanks, John, I know traction is a problem, I just thought even w/. blower, I'd get maybe a lower 60' thru more power than when I was N/A. Guess traction overrides that "power" misbelief. Heck, a 2.0x somethin, 1.9x anything. Nope, bout same since as b4 Radix.

I plan to Pat. Like said, meth kit, etc. down the road. Gonna adjust some things to tune earlier this comin week. Plan to get it down track by end of Nov., & widdle it down a lil more.
I wanna get a solid dyno & street tune to get what I can outta it, but that'll be next yr.
Wanna have meth on it, & other stuff, so I can take it to tuner in spring w/. all I intend to do, & have him tune for it all at once. Rather than multiple trips & multiple tuning bills.
We'll see. At least times are goin the right way.
I wanna reach my goal(s) on stock heads, usin this 5.3, no more cubes. After that, if I choose to chase after more cubes, then I can delve into a motor build. Depends on a variety of factors, like my job, which directly correlates to money to fund. Goal of a house, & keepin it as a DD. For me, that means, still DD but no more winters. That's my goal.

Even if I ran a 12.4, which should make me happy, I wanna get somewhere in the 12.1-12.4 range (that was my original goal). That would be quite an accomplishment.
I guess I'll do what I can to bust past 11.99, & down into 11.6-11.7x area.
So it's kinda 2 goals in 1.
I'm tryin to get into that 12.1 -12.4 cause that's stock C5 Z06 territory. A figure my brother said yrs. ago, no matter what I do to my truck, I'll never beat it. Yet, he himself has never had it to the track, he's more about lip service. He just digested everything he read on what's the generally accepted range they run (IIRC, he said 12.2-12.8 in every rag he read). Evan Smithe from GMHTP hustled an 11.99? But that guy is a freak of nature, he beats most anyone given the same car.
FWIW, my sole ambition isn't to beat my brother, it'll just be icing on the cake, it kinda just happened along the way as I kept wanting to get my truck faster.
My newer goal is the 11.6-11.7x cause there are guys on PT w/. ext. cabs doin it. Ya, most are sporting more cam, stall, gear or combination of.
More of everything. They usu. have advantage of 4WD or AWD for traction. I just look at it as my reg. cab should be in ballpark w/. ext. cabs.
The low 12 goal I'm tryin to do on slicks, 3.42, & stk heads. Keepin cam I have if possible.
If I do the mid 11's goal, I'll accept a small shot to get it.
As I get my times down, I'll figure out my next step in the process as I go.
