Maybe their shop is like an emergency room. Sometimes you get a resident surgeon. Sometimes you get an intern.

Op,

Good luck with your pass, man. Try to get a vid

Maybe he revs higher and gets much more efficiency out of the converter than you did. He also may not make the torque you do quite as fast... maybe his turbo doesnt spool as quick.

I have a similar experience with other brands. I abuse converters others seem to love with my weight and low end power. Its all in how fast you can make torque off the bottom and gaining efficiency in the right RPM band.

I thought my converter was great until I actually measured slip. Had it tightened up, and gained 4mph or so in the 1/8th with no other changes, but my setup is unusual in that it made peak torque and power in the 4000-5000rpm range.

Converters are hit or miss and next to never are perfect first time spec'd

Usually best to try provide a dyno sheet, weight slip, power adder of use and etc when requesting a converter

I got really lucky on the converter. It was originally specced out for my brother's 370/lysholm2300 but he didn't go through with the 4l80e swap at the time so I bought the converter off of him. It's very rare to get the correct converter the first time around but this one is superb! I will get some data logs to share with you guys after this weekend to show the converter in action.
I hope to have some good videos to share as well.
Mexico racing league will be filming at this track event so I will try to have them do some footage of the truck.
I have have a couple of grudge matches lined up as well for the weekend so hopefully that turns out good too. One of the matches is a fully built lightning with a 3.4 whipple making somewhere around 750rwhp.

Mine is currently being tightened way up. I'm really hoping it works. Gaining 4 mph in the 1/8th just from converter change is unreal

It cracks me up when guys come on here and say their converter is perfect or works great and then recommends the same to another guy. Yet, they have no idea what it means when you ask them what the slip is or where it falls back to on a shift. Almost like, if it goes down the road and doesn't overheat.........its perfect.

Only a few more hours to wait... Weather is nice and cool today, 57* cloudy and a DA of 3800ft. If the track hooks I've got a fighting chance lol
