Default New times for the N/A 5.7!!

Went to my local 1/8 mile track last night to finally get some shake down passes on the 5.7 we put together and was pretty happy with the results. With that said, i really need to work on suspension. the best 60" i got was leaving at 1800 rpm and i can bring this converter all the way up to 2400+ but it would hook and unload the tires!

basic run down of the truck

5.7
222/226 110lsa
stock 243's
longtubes
stock nbs intake and tb
circle D 4200
4.56
28x10 full slick on 8" rim
cal tracs

still have stock clutch fans and lower pulley

60" 1.63
1/8 7.82
MPH 85.5

this is with a hacked up 2.5" cold air intake and full exhaust. im going to make some suspension changes, make a 4" cold air intake to headlight and maybe install a cutout to see if i can gain any MPH with that.

7.82 comes out to be a 12.17-12.25 in the 1/4, if i can get this thing into the mid 1.50's i think 11's are in my future!

congrats on the times! squeeze a little more mph out of that setup and 11's are doable with those kind of 60' times.

Yea i am looking to get the 60" down to 1.56-1.58 and maybe add 2mph with a real cold air, tbss intake swap, cut out and possibly electric fans but I'm going to do one thing at a time. It wants to leave much harder but suspension needs work.

Any suggestions as far as suspension? All I have really is 90/10's up front and cut springs. Rear has one leaf removed, shackles and hanger with cal tracs.

Sounds like you need some long bars to keep the spring from wraping.

That's awesome, especially since you still need more bolt-ons. I blew my ls1 up and just finished my lq4 swap and I'm hoping for those kinds of times n/a. I have 4.56's too, but a tighter SS3600 stall so I'm not sure mine has it in it lol.

Yea I think the converter plays a big role because it wants to leave much harder.

I already have caltracs

I bet it would run solid 11s with more cam and a ls6 intake.

Nice truck
