Last pass was 12.7xx @ 115 mph. 2.1 60ft. Still trying to get the shift points were they need to be. It makes peek power at 6700 rpm and that is were it was shifting. Its obviously got alot more left in it. Thanks again to Allen for basically spending the entire day tuning the truck. Street/Dyno/Track tuning all in one day.

 

You have the mph for a mid 11 second pass, you need a bigger converter for that size cam and a centrifugal s/c, something around 3600 to 3800 maybe even 4K with that 80e, you shift recovery would be tighter and you would keep that ati singing up where it likes to be

 

I agree. I'll be going to 3800-4000 and thinking about changing gears to 4.10's. On the last pass I came back to the pits and everyone was like "did you let off early" I said "no, it shifted into 3rd" lol.

 

I think that converter should be fine. Gearing would probably help though. What tire are you running and is traction an issue?

 

I really don't think the converter that I bought is the one I got. It stalls to about 2500 on the foot brake. Given the rpm range of this motor I'm guessing it will pick up at least 5 tenths going to a 3800 stall on slicks.

 

Sounds like you got one of the common problems with PI converters. They are the best I've found, but often don't stall to what they are supposed to stall at. If your converter actually stalled at 3k, you should be able to pull 1.7 or so 60's. By 3k your D1 should be well into boost and making enough torque to shoot you out of the hole. Going with a much higher stall will always get you a better time, but isn't always the best overall way to go.

 

Congrats on the times. You definitley have the MPH for a lot lower E.T.'s. I am running 1.7 60fts on my 3000rpm Vigalante. I haven't tryed foot brakeing it.

Like said above, your trap speed is great but your 60's suck. Get them down to 1.7 or better and you'll prob make 11's like 1slow said.

 

I'm hoping with a 3800-4000 converter and slicks it will trap closer to 120mph. Then I'll install the fuel cell and big pump and change to an 8-rib set up and go for 16lbs. of boost.
