Yup this is a completely stock bottom end 4.8. All I have done to it for upgrades are put a gen4 top end on it. (799 heads and nnbs intake) ls9 gaskets and a set of eBay head studs keep the engine sealed. has a used Vinci turbo cam that I bought off a member on here 4 years ago, Texas speed 7.4" pushrods and a set of prc .650" springs. The engine has right at 100k miles on it now. I shift it at around 7000rpms but have tapped the rev limiter a few times at 7500.
So far there is no sign of engine being hurt

Yes they take a beating , mine is a 2002 4.8 with 198k miles untouched bottom end , just added 243 heads and holley intake ,arp studs and spikes custom grind cam , i have cut 1.46 60ft through a circle d 3b , on 3.90 gears, im on e85 and 80mm bullseye turbo ,race weight on mine was 4350 with full audio system and a/c ..... Its a great toy daily driven , i have over 50 passes and its real consistant , your almost there loose some weight on the truck and easy 9

I'm also running a circle d 3B converter I've cut 1.53 so far but my slicks are done for. They don't even any wear indicator holes left lol
I'm running cx racing 61/62 turbos also on e85 and 4.10 gears. If it goes any faster I'll have to change gears.
