I really would be afraid to use launch control on a 4L60. It would probably implode with the weight of a truck. I typically launch from around 1100 rpm and it is pretty consistent in the high 1.5's on a good track.I have tried foot breaking to 2500 rpm, and it didn't sixty foot any better.

Wow, great info! I had a feeling you weren't using a transbrake with the 60e but didn't know if maybe a 2-step.

I have tried off idle, leaning on the converter a bit and leaning on it as much as the stock brakes will hold and I had the best 60 with the later. However, I am not making enough power to break drag radials loose at ~3,000RPM which is about the max my brakes will hold. If I was making more power like you I could see how leaving at a lower RPM could help maintain traction off the line and still have enough power to drive through the 60 quick enough.......

Are you on stock suspension in the rear? I couldn't remember.....

Thanks again for sharing all your specs, it really helps out a bunch those who want to follow a similar path.

I am running a very old outdated 4 link that we had to make fit and QA1's. Works pretty good though. I had to add a sway bar because it handled so bad, but that fixed it.

This is a great build - of course I'm bias since I have an '04 black step-side Sierra with a 383 stroker in it & running the same heads. The shortblock is being refreshed as I type since I dropped a lifter and chewed up the cam. Went a little aggressive as well with the new one and am upgrading the pistons, doing a trunion upgrade on the rockers, and spend the & for Johnson lifters. Won't be quite the monster as yours but a stroker none the less. I'll post a vid of it being fired up here in the next couple of weeks.

Sucks about the tuner...I have to travel about 4 hours to my tuner once I get her running. Which pistons did you get with your 408 by the way?
