New to drag slicks. Need some suggestions.

I have been playing with the idea of getting a set of drag slicks for my truck. I don't really want to have to buy another set of rims. I have a couple of stock rims laying around not doing anything. Only problem is, I believe that the stock rims are 6.5-7.0" wide. I found a set of slicks I like, but they recommend at least an 8" rim width. Would these work even tho the rim is a little undersized? Would these slicks hook real good? I don't want to get any of those drag tires with tread on them, I figured that they wouldn't hook up as well. Here is a link to the slicks I was looking at. Thanks for the help. Tim

Dude....those tires will work just fine, as well as ET Street radials. I pull 1.57 sixty's on the ET'S and 1.54's on the Hoosiers. Not a hell of a lot of difference.
My thing is, with the slicks, they make me run with the 9 second boys. With the ET streets I run with all the Mustangs, Himi Chargers and such...a lot more fun.
They don't even talk to me because I'm in a truck..then I spank them and they don't talk to me because a tuck out ran them. LOL...
