Yeah,no on neutral while rollin unless in emergency.Iirc the rear planetaries lose lubrication along with free spinning 3rd gear apply clutches.I grenaded a rmvb th350 using neutral after a run.Well actually my buddy who bought the car did but,he only did it cause thats how I drove it.The failure was quite catastrophic imo...

Definitely leave it in gear... all kinds of havoc inside there with parts being overdriven while in neutral, then there's the lube issues... let it shift itself into 4th and coast/brake after a run...

So what should you do on a nitrous run when the engine is shut off at the end of the run to read plugs? Leave it in d and coast with the motor off? I always put it in neutral before killing the motor...

If the engine isn't running, the flexplate isn't spinning the converter, and the trans pump isn't moving any fluid. That will smoke your transmission.

Park works best for me... seems to slow me down a little faster... probably better engine braking since Park uses the compression of the engine to hold the vehicle still while parked... I thought everyone knew that anyway

unless you can disconnect the drive shaft at the same time. its horrible to be in neutral or any gear with out the engine running and the truck moving. the pump is ran buy the torque converter spinning. now if you could get your t-case (if 4wd) into neutral then kill it you'd be OK.
