Default Need lower 60' times

So I took my truck (2008 RCSB, 5.3L, exhaust, Diablo sport, 100 shot) to the drags a couple of weeks ago and ran a fastest 14.059. So I REALLY want to break into the 13's next time I go down. The most potential that I seem that I am losing is in my 60' times, my fastest time was 2.311. I Figure that I should be able to get that down to 2.1-2.2 with no problems but it just isnt happening. I have tried launching from just an idle and stalling it up as far as she will go and still can not run faster!!

I am launching in 2wd and spinning about 2 feet off the line, spraying at about 40 feet at about 2800 RPM

Any Ideas????

gear ratio and tire size?

Obviously you lack the traction to cut a faster 60'. Get more traction.

Yeah, I agree, no way you are only spinning 2 feet out with that sixty foot time. What tires, what tire pressure, what stall, what gear, what rwhp, what shot ?
(I like to say what... obviously)

Couple more questions. What drag radial are you running...ET Streets Bias, MT radial, MH, Hoosier, or Goodyear ? They all take different tire pressure and some need more heat than others. I have run 4 of the 5 above.

Are you bogging as soon as it quits spinning ? A stock TC might be what is killing you because 373 is not a bad gear. Spray out of the hole as mentioned above, may fix things with the tires heated properly, and maybe a couple less lbs of air (hot).

Try this, but remember, everyone has their own methods of launching and each truck is different: 20 psi cold will be 22-23 psi when heated. So set at 16 psi cold and then do your first burnout. Recheck them after your first run and adjust accordingly....One lb at a time (per run). Less air if you spin, more if you bog. You should get it figured out after 2-3 runs unless the full hit out of the hole is too much. I start with 18psi hot ( 16 cold) on all the tires above except the ET Street Bias ply. Those I start at 13.5 hot (11.5 cold).

Good luck !

Pitt

I didn't realize you were on street tires. That is another ball game as they will not hook well with too much power.

You have the auto-trac? Damn man, yes, spray out of the hole in 4wd, shift back to 2wd as soon as traction is no longer an issue (if able).

Rule #1) Use every advantage.

You have 4wd, use it!!!!
