ZZebes, WCCH makes a head from an Edelbrock casting that is the baddest bitch out there for the 5.3s it flows awesome, is made for the 3.78 bore(no valve shrouding like the other heads) and it has a THICK deck so you can spray the **** out of it too

Texas Speed Stage 2.5 5.3L head
Forged pistons to up compression
Cam
Headers
LS2 Intake???
Custom Air Intake

What do ya'll think??
I think I remember reading in a manifold test, that the LS2 intake was not really a great choice. As I recall the LS6 was the best stock manifold. If I find it, I'll let you know. Good luck on your Journey to the 12's. That rocks!

1slow pretty much summed it up

Our CNC'd Edlebrock head is a purpose built small bore head. The untouched casting has a really small bore diameter and that allowed us to make a very small diameter chamber for the 4.8l and 5.3l engines with a 3.780" bore size. To my knowledge no one else makes such a part. One of the main reasons why this head is such a nice performance upgrade is because you don't need to run a large head gasket (5.7l bore size or larger) to fit the chambers of the other aftermarket heads. Furthermore, the stock chamber size on our Edelbrock heads starts at a nice small 58cc and can easily be milled to the low 50's or high 40's. It also has a double quench shape in the chambers to aid N/A combustion. The finished size intake ports flow 60 more cfm while remaining smaller in volume than the stock as cast 5.3l heads. On the exhaust side, the port is only 5cc larger than stock and also yeilds a 60cfm increase over the stock GM head. All my flow test data is performed on a 3.780" dia. test bore.
IMO if your looking to be the fastest n/a 5.3l truck these heads will be very useful as they have lots of performance potential and lots of extra aluminum wherever it counts.
Feel free to call us at the shop and I'll be happy to answer any questions you might have. Our number is (818) 705-5454. We've been kinda busy lately so if you get the answering machine leave a message and a number I can call back.

I'm going for fastest ecsb stock 5.3 with any power adder record. Looks like it is a 12.79.

I just got my ss3200 today. It will be going in as soon as I drop my transmission off to get rebuilt. It won't be a 12 second truck, but I'll be damned if it's not gonna make my 2.77 60' better.

Sounds like you need a secretary(who is local and has a lot of free time during the day) to answer those phones...My daily rate is minimum wage + everything that's accumulated in your brain for the last 15 years. I'll take the latter in increments during my employment at WCCH...

Just wanted to thank richard for explaining some stuff to me and giving a good crash course on head design and intake plenum volume over the phone. I'm Definitley gonna go with the Edlebrock heads and his suggestion on a cam on a 110LSA so hopefully once i pay off my transmission i'll be givin you a call rich.
