Default leaf spring question

I was looking at the "post your weight" sticky and saw a truck that removed the the overload leaf spring...my question was will removin said spring cause wheel hop under hard acceleration on stock suspension. Wouldnt mind having an inch of drop and removing weight...btw how much do these weigh?

My 07 nnbs rcsb 4x2 5.3 truck weighs 4900 lbs with the factory 17's. If you want an inch of drop just take out the spacer between the rearend and the springs. If you want it to set about level then take out the spacer and buy the bell tech 2" shackles.

You will have wheel hop removing the overload. The guys that are removing them have either cal tracs or long bars. When I took mine off they felt around 20lbs-25lbs

mine were almost 70lbs (together) and YES, you will experience pretty violent wheel hop if you have nothing to stop it. removing your overload weakens the rigidity of the spring pack...

but the plusses are less weight, a little smoother ride, and maybe that one little bit of drop youve been looking for in the back
