Just got back from the track

what air pressure are you running the slicks at. Have you played with the air pressure any to see if you can get it to hook better? I would advise against going to a 26" slick or putting a lower gear in it since you're already spinning out of the hole. That will just make it spin more. I think you probably need to get on a dyno and get a good tune specific to your truck to make sure that everything is set the way it needs to be.

If you're lowered like me then your suspension could be the root of your issues. I would say invest in some cal-tracs or longbars. I know my wheelhop was so bad I almost broke my true-trac doing a burnout in the waterbox. My mph is good for a mid 8 second 1/8th but I'm running 9.0s because of a 2.1-2.2 60'.
I have longbars which hopefully should cure the problem at least a little bit.

Tsp mail order tuned, probably most of my problem. Dont know on the mph. Northeast corner Arkansas, Little town called Reyno.

Got posi...Suspension is stock other than upgraded shocks...need cal-tracs. Tires were good and warm. Few people on track, not enough to warm it up...My slowest time was faster than all other car/trucks there.

You need to get rid of the mail order and get a live tune it is a night and day difference. If you have a stock posi unit it might not be working right. The gears and converter is a good combo there is no need to change it. You should be in the 1.7x range. When I had the 4.8 with tune, headers, k&n cai, e-fans, Tci 3000 stall with the stock 3.42's with a powertax locker it ran a couple 8.8x and consistant 8.9x-9.1x with a 2.0 60ft on 26 dr's. Your tune might still have tourqe man. in it or You need more timing, etc. I would check it first.
