Default I suck at this crap

Well, I met up with The Breeze today. Hot out, like 90ish. Pretty humid. My first run my 4wd launch felt like . It felt as if my trans just slipped like a m-fer. It was with The Breeze lined up with me...I cut .725 reaction time and a F-ing 2.25 60'. Ugh. Bryan cut a .425 reaction and a 1.788 60'. It was a nasty 14.403 for me.

So I turned on my meth (was trying to do a test between the 2) and didn't use 4wd on the next launch. My meth pump wasn't coming on!! So, my reaction sucked at .478 and still a shitty 60' at 2.105. This time I pulled down a 13.757 @ 99.12. I lined up against a Lighitng who snagged a .164 reaction and only a 2.068 60. He finished at 13.769. DAMMITT!

Next run in the burn out I lost my a/c belt whihc took out my serpentine belt. LOL They made me back out of the gate. Bryan actually got it back on while a stood on the belt tensioner. Finally got around to do another run, and again lined up with the same lighting. Reaction of .329, 60' at 2.093 and crossed the trap at 13.714 @ 99.28. The lighitng had me until the 1/8 where I was at 8.817 and he was at 8.87 and then he finished at 13.823. VIDEO

I raced in full street trim. 20" SS wheels with 285/50's on it. Hard fiberglass cap, about 3/8" of a tank. I wasn't interested in making it light for the race, I really wanted to know what it does on the street. Next time, I'll be lighter and I am gonna do some major investigating on my T-case slipping like that. And I will have the meth up runnning correctly this week dammit.

Oh well, she weighs 5600, but I should be breaking 13's with this motor combo.I will offer out my tune for opinions as well. This was my first time at a drag strip. It certainly shows.

Side note, I do have a larger hxr to put on, but my start IAT's were at 151* and finishes were at 201-203*. Starting spark advance 20*, finish was at 12.5. Lost of HP there.

Hey great times really for 90ish heat. I'm starting to throw AC belts also. Put on a new tensioner today. I'll see where that gets me. Don't believe I have ever seen 200* IAT's. Thats insane. I am finally getting my track times down but at the expense of my reaction times. If I don't stage first by the time I do my stall routine the tree has already started and screws me up.

You were our topic of discussion today mister. We were talking about your times and comparable setup. What's your race weight by the way? Yeh I wonder if there something going on with those IAT's. I have the 2.8 pulley on there, so I suspect heat to rise quickly, but nothing like that. I was pretty shocked at my timing loss due to IAT.

It took us 4 hours to get 3 runs. Ridiculous IMO. How can you really "test and tune"? LOL It was fun though.

yeh yeh yeh. Still doesn't make me feel any better about the sluggish start. Maybe the reaction time is a wash.

Come to KY! Friday night T&T Mountian Parkway Dragway, 5-10pm. Most nights you could hot lap the track. I spend most of my time watching the races and letting her cool down. I'm at ~5400 lb, with me and 1/2 tank.

hang in there bro! This friday was my first at the track too. there is a lot to do and learn, its hard to watch the gauges and the tree while doing the brake trick and worrying about launching in 4x4. we need to get a routine down and oue e.t.'s will drop. my best run was a 13.6 @ 101.8 mph 8 psi in 4x4 launch WITH A 2.1 60 ', with a 2 wheel launch i hardly spooled cuz i was worried about tire spin and ran a terrible 14.06 @ 101 . BUT I AM EXCITED ABOUT GOING BACK FOR PRACTICE, its fun!!

damn dewey, it's about time you got to the track. don't worry, your times will come down. you can't expect great times at full street weight on a 90degree day either. and 200* iat's are really holding you back. i know your truck has alot more in it than that.

Thanks Tim & Josh, I crossed the trap at 12.5* spark (pretty bad since I started at 20*). I will get this worked out, dammitt!!! And yes it was certainly fun.
