wow, and she holds wot lockup no prob too. i may look into getting a hardened input shaft, and go back in with the same trans w/ new case.

No matter how u got there. Good luck on fixin her.

Oh ya, at your level, a D/S loop would be a great idea.
thanks guys, I am looking into 2 DS loops, one in front, and one in the rear. i think I will get the truck back up and running first, and spend some time adding a Custom DS, and safety loops.

yes, on some of my vids you can actually hear how hard it locks up, the converter is a PI triple disc 4k that was restalled by chris at circle d to a 4400

personally i dont think you need a 4l80e behind a 5.3 some may think different, i myself am probably on borrowed time but as long as the PERFORMABUILT is holding up to my expectations i have no need for a 4l80e

she'll be really tested soon with a 200 shot out the hole

are you tuning the truck by reading the plugs on the bottle? what kinda timing are you running on your 100 shot? and br7ef plug for you right? I am running a steady 25* at 12.2 to 11.8 afr on the Nano. I am on a br6ef plug. my log on the 11 sec run was perfect! I just need to pull the plugs and see if I can get by with adding some timing. I called performabuilt, and asked about the input shafts they use and got some good info on the hardened stuff.

man that is an all too familiar sight for me, i blew my stocker shaft is my 98 5.3 t-56 swap at 110, twisted right in half, snapped my pinion gear in 2, punctured my gas tank, push my corsa halfway in, snapped teeth off my ring gear, HUGE MESS, needless to say i was lucky the leaking fuel didnt ignight from dragging the shaft down the road. that was the last straw and the truck went bye bye, ill be adding 2 DS loops to my RST before i start making any sort of #'s. good luck with the fix!

I know some guys get only (1) DS loop. But if someone is down there anyway, even if payin for the labor, couldn't be much more to fab 2. I know awhile back, someone on here talked of fabbin DS loops & making for sale. Never panned out.

I want 1 or 2 DS loops & would prefer to go off pre-existing holes & just bolt em in. Could prolly get away on the front doin that, the other maybe not. IDK, I have to look. Also, is there a certain distance from front yoke or output shaft loop needs to be installed per NHRA rules? I figure 1/4" thick would be required as well? Thoughts on what rules say?

I think I'll get a custom d/s before I get Truetrac installed, cause who knows when I'll get Truetrac put in. Maybe after I decide on whether I'm doin gears ... 3.73 or 4.10s.

Gears are up in air, custom d/s is certain. And you're faster, so I'd be more concerned.

actuallly i only pulled the plugs after 2 nitrous passes to see how they looked, to my knowledge and looking on the net they seem fine so i havent worried about them as much, once i start spraying a 150-200 shot then reading the plugs will become crucial and will need to be read after each hard run ( shutting down across the traps )

timing lol wish quik was still on board lol, i run 30 degrees of timing my afr is 11.2 on race fuel, i plan on swapping the fuel jet to achieve the 11.8 im looking for.. when i step to a 150 shot then we'll ( quik & i ) will back timing probably 1 * then 2* on a 200 shot, mind you i only run on race fuel

plugs i will being:

100 = tr6
150 = tr7
200 = tr8

nice! race fuel in the standalone, and the truck? ever thought about running a non projected plug so the tip wont turn into a glowplug? i dont know anyone using the br6ef's i use, and they are a little hard to find, but run better to me than the tr6's I had used on the stock heads.

Fastnblu....I have a buddy that is going to help me fab up the front and rear loops, and weld in my axle tubes, and perches on the planned flip kit.....for a steak dinner.

dont have a standalone, just add 5 gals. to the fuel cell and run it, sometimes i'll throw a couple gallons of 93 with the race fuel i dont need a standalone though but its not a priority on my list as of yet.. as for the plugs no i havent, i'll look the number up and see what i find
