I have tried both in my camaro and truck, and always got best results off idle. both can light the tires pretty easy though.
If you have alot of grip i would try to stall it up.

to me, it seems that when i punch it from idle, the tires spin, and when i brake stall it to about 1200-1500, it doesnt..... just takes off, but idk... need to keep tryin different things

mine loves launching at about 2300 2250 on the DRs. it flashes really hard and launches really good at that rpm for me. anything below that it takes a lil to long to flash so i dont get as good of a 60.

Before I sold my bracket car, I set the delay box, mashed the gas and held on for dear life.

In my street car with ET streets, I leave at close to 3k on the converter and have pedal a little bit out of the hole. It's all about trial and error finding the sweet spot between bogging and spinning.

dont wast your money on traction bars, you'll be surprise what the difference with some slicks... with your 4.8, some 26" would be your better choice for a better 60' and e/t..
