Got one full throttle start with the new motor
#1
Ran at 131 yesterday did one easy shakedown pass to check air fuel ratio . Went back to the pits check everything found the distributor wasn't tight enough and the timing was only 24-25 degrees. Air fuel was at 13.5 so I jetted up accordingly reset timing to 35 and went to try a full throttle run off the line. Front end came up and BANG!! front end came back down it pulled real hard for about 10 feet . I don't think the center section likes the 540
I was going to upgrade it before I went out, but I talked myself out of it because it was only going to make it to the track maybe twice. I figured it would make it 6-8 passes. Now I get to check out the trans too its a package deal as you all know
