Default Got my first 1.6 60 ft!

We had a test & tune night on the 23rd, and then 3 days of racing for the holiday weekend. I only came out on the 23rd and today though. My 16's are pretty shot, so I decided to just de-stud my winter 20" tires and run them this summer.

All of these passes are zero weight reduction, full stereo/subwoofer system, and on the 20's. Still spins all 4 off the line, but not as bad.

AND I got my FIRST 1.6x 60 foot time ever! Also looks really consistent with this setup, could be a 12.0 bracket racer.

Very nice. Need some radials on all 4. Might help it hook. Do you have the front end strapped down?

I'd LOVE to have 4 DR's on my 16's! That would be the ****! Not to mention that the 28" tire would be a better gearing combo than these 32" tires.....

And no, the front end isn't strapped down yet. Probably need to do this stuff. Any predictions of ET if I did?

Well I'm nowhere near your power level. On stock 265/70/17 I ran a 2.2 60' with out the strap with a DA around 2800. With 285/70/17 I ran a 2.1 60' with a DA around 4000. My best 60' so far is 1.79 with the 285s. The 285s weigh about 10# more than the 265s. Need new tires on my stock rims. Hope I can get some 1.6s once I get some boost. Lol

Are you strapping down the front end? If so, is that what dropped your 60 ft?

I chained down the front of my truck and it made a HUGE difference! I was still only leaving on 3 lbs of boost during both runs, but I'm going to leave on full boost next time.

Before chaining it down
60 ft 1.9972
330 ft 5.4487
1/8 8.3656
1/8 84.54 mph

AFTER chaining the front end down
60 ft 1.811
330 ft 5.187
1/8 8.006
mph 86.82
1,000 10.463
1/4 12.574
mph 105.95

Ah, I remember reading that you had done it too. To be honest, I never thought that I'd consider doing it, so I never paid attention to the gains to be had. But now, here I am thinking that it's probably a worthwhile mod. Probably an inexpensive one too. Hmm...

So, maybe a tenth or so off the 60 ft from strapping down the front end? And maybe more with DR's? And maybe a better ET with better gearing by going to 28" tires?

Yea, the only changes between the runs was straps and tires. I could probably get a low 1.7 with stock 265s. I may look for a set of stock 16s for my truck with some dr. Your truck should rip with dr on each corner and straps in the front.

Impressive runs roger! I'm really surious to see what kind of gains you see too. I can't imagine how strong you would leave the line with some drag tires and straps... it would hurt.

Are you brake stalling it or leaving off idle? What does your converter flash to?

I went to the track last week and couldn't get close to 1.6's with the 22's. Best of the day was a 1.84. I did get some high 1.6's with the titan wheels and the LQ4.
