Yes its not a donkey dick cam but I've seen small cams perform better than donkey dick cams...Depends on what his goals are. Hopefully most newer people that log on or sign up here realize fairly quickly to ignore anything that comes out of your in bred ***.... Sorry OP, Research and do whatever you want it's your ride! Rant over!

Well i dont know much about trucks and i do have a 4.8 and when i bought the truck it only had 44 miles on it and about 1500 miles when i decided to cam it and have some fun with it. the way i see it is i am going as im learning with a 4.8 so when i do decide to swap motors it will be a 6.2 but only when my motor gives ill start searching my little 4.8 is actually a fun experience. and like other ppl have said some ppl have different budgets ideas and projects.

The funny thing is is that fooses motor is not built near like your glorified 408 is going to be and even with you on a 150 cubic inch bigger motor he will still pull the **** out of your piece of junk. And did you really have a 6.0, tune and converter and only run a 14.2? If thats the case than you must really suck at this whole modding thing. I really think you should just find a different hobby, birdwatching or basket weaving maybe?
If you notice I have said many times in this thread a boosted 4.8 is a beast. N/A you just can't replace displacement. A 12.8 is a damn good time and that seems near the fastest N/A the 4.8 has gone. That is nothing to be ashamed of but you can much easier get to mid 12s with a 6.0 and have a much more drivable combo since you don't have to push so hard. Not to mention then you still have lots of room to grow.
Yes, I bought the truck for $500 from my work. Put a restalled stock(2800) converter, had justin tune it for 91 and full performance without raising the shift points, and cut the stock muffler off. Yes it ran 14.2 and how do I suck. That is one of the fastest near stock 6.0s around that I know of. It isn't anything amazing but it is impressive and I was content with it.

Thanx for the quick replies guys. Yeah like 08silveradojp stated I want to do the 4.8 as learning experience that way when I do do the swap I can pretty much know what to expect if not have better success. Again thanx.

I don't really post a lot, but custm2500 YOU ARE A COMPLETE ******* MORON! He stated a 212/218 low lift cam, how in the hell do you figure that cam wont preform in a 5.3???

It will work and make some power but not much over stock. Most common is 22x/22x and they work great, make great power. It would hardly be worth putting into a stock 5.3 let alone if you were looking to mod it for track performance.
p.s. It is inbread not two words.

I'd bet the OP's fbo 4.8 on kill would blow your doors off. That is, if you still run with doors.
I love your posts man. If I see you commented on a thread, I always read it. The one on tech that was locked down started by the guy with the yellow terminator. The guy traps 128 in the 1/4. And lmao, you told him he was slow... with a pb of 13.4... fkn **** awesome posts!!
Calling the 212/218 cam small in a lm7 5.3 is also funny...
